Over the years I have owned several cameras from professional mid-size cameras to Leica M3 and Leica M6. Three years ago I decided to go digital and bought a Samsung NX300 - for me a very fine camera which I used a lot for portraits and boudoir photography. Unfortunately Samsung decided to discontinue the NX series so I bought a Nikon D7200 as a kit. Well, the D7200 has many more settings to obtain optimum results so I got this Dummy book anticipating that I could get to the required settings faster than going through the official owners manual. What a disappointment! I don’t understand what the objective of this book is, but it is no help at all to easily input the settings required. The author provides a lot of confusing information with no proper explanations why and how a particular setting to be used. Frustrated as I went through 60% of the book I ordered “Mastering The D7200” by Darrell Young. Boy - what a difference - easy to understand, options very well explained and reasons to use or recommend certain settings. This book is highly recommended and provides the best information from a highly respected author specialist to explain digital cameras. I consider myself a semi-professional photographer so I think I can objectively judge the difference of those two books.
